Blackstone Coffee Company opened their doors in 2008, providing their customers with the freshest coffee in the region. It was only possible through the roasting expertise of Don Merritt and the business savvy of Paula Merritt, owners and operators of Blackstone.
18 years ago, Don began his love affair with coffee, teaching himself the finer points of the roasting process. In 2004, after winning an award for his espresso blend, he decided to go pro. With his refined knowledge of roasting, Blackstone is able to roast the highest quality Arabica coffee beans for you.

Coffee is currently grown in various regions around the world. Each region imparts a unique characteristic to the coffee grown there.
Brazilian
Brazilian coffee has a smooth flavor, delicate in body, with moderately low acidity. By itself, it is a decent coffee. It's most known characteristic is its ability to smooth or add sweetness to a blend of other coffees.
Columbian
Colombian coffee has been recognized worldwide as having high quality and a distinctive taste. Colombian coffee is produced in two regions of Columbia, the eastern region and the central region. Coffee from the central region is rich in flavor and has a balanced acidity. The eastern region produces a less acidic, richer tasting coffee.
Indonesian
Indonesian coffees are usually marketed under the name of the island of origin; see Sumatra, Sulawesi, Java, Timor. Are distinguished by full body, rich flavor, and a low-toned, vibrant acidity.
African
Africa is the birthplace of coffee. Its coffees are world renowned for their deep, winey acidity, chocolate and fruit undertones, rustic flavors and intense aromas.

Coffee is roasted to transform the chemical and physical properties of green coffee beans into roasted coffee products. This process is made possible through the understanding of the Maillard reaction. The Maillard reaction is a form of nonenzymatic browning similar to caramelization. It results from a chemical reaction between an amino acid and a reducing sugar, usually requiring heat.
The type of the amino acid determines the resulting flavor. This reaction is the basis of the flavoring in the coffee industry. In the process, hundreds of different flavor compounds are created. These compounds, in turn, break down to form yet more new flavor compounds, and so on.
The roasting process is what produces the characteristic flavor of coffee by causing the green coffee beans to expand and to change in color, taste, smell, and density. Unroasted beans contain similar acids, protein, and caffeine as those that have been roasted, but lack the taste. It takes heat to speed up the Maillard and other chemical reactions that develop and enhance the flavour.
Dunkel Rost
The German word for "dark", this roast is bold and assertive without having a burnt and bitter taste. It pairs very well with chocolate or our heavier desserts.
Wicked Good
A medium blend of Costa Rican, Colombian and Brazilian beans. Its sweet, nutty taste is excellent with breakfast fare.
Santa Fe
A mix between our darkest and lightest blends. This blend has all of the taste to enjoy with breakfast, while having a punch to make it through the evening.
Sunrise
A mix between two Latin American beans, this is our lightest blend. Its full bodied flavor with a touch of sweetness, makes this the perfect morning cup.
Swiss Water Decaf
Our only decaffeinated blend is a full city roast. The Swiss Water Processing removes the caffeine without compromising the full flavor of the blend.
Colombian
This medium roast bean has a rich body, with just a hint of fruitiness.
Our Bob-O-Link is an exceptional bean. Typical of Brazilian beans, its rich, fruity acidity and full body is offset by just a touch of orange citrus.
Costa Rican
This bean makes a cup that is easily drinkable, with nice body and acidity, a touch of brown sugar sweetness and a very balance taste.
Rwandan
This bean has a deep, earthy body and milder acidity. The molasses and stone fruit undertones makes a remarkable cup of coffee.
English Breakfast
A smooth sipping blend of single estate black teas make a great start to the day.
Earl Grey
A classic blend of premium black tea from Sri Lanka, flavored with bergamot.
Mayan Chai
An exotic, spicy blend of full flavored black tea, cinnamon, cardamom, clove ginger and pepper.
Jasmine White
White tea is laid to rest with the purest jasmine flowers. Absolutely delicious!
Ginger Citrus
Orange, lemon, lime and ginger. Great hot or iced.
Ceylon Greens
A medium body delicious everyday cup of green tea. Flavor without the heavy vegetal taste.
Darjeeling Autumnal
From the foothills of the Himilayas, the final picking of the season, this biodynamic gem is sure to please the most discriminating Darjeeling drinker.
Moroccan Mint
A perfect blend of organic green tea and fresh spearmint.
Cranberry-Orange Tisane
Hibiscus, rose hips, orange peels, cranberries and apples come together to calm and relax.
African Elixir
A smooth combination of honeybush, rooibos and vanilla. Excellent hot or cold.
Wu Yi Oolong
This is a stunning amber oolong from where oolong originated. Dark long leaves steep into a beautiful cup of tea.
